    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to package store restrictions;
    3         repealing s. 565.04, F.S., which prohibits certain
    4         venders from selling certain merchandise and prohibits
    5         direct access from such vendor’s place of business to
    6         other buildings; providing an effective date.
    7          
    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Section 565.04, Florida Statutes, is amended to
   11  read:
   12         565.04 Package store restrictions.—Vendors licensed under
   13  s. 565.02(1)(a) shall not in said place of business sell, offer,
   14  or expose for sale any merchandise other than such beverages,
   15  and such places of business shall be devoted exclusively to such
   16  sales; provided, however, that such vendors shall be permitted
   17  to sell bitters, grenadine, nonalcoholic mixer-type beverages
   18  (not to include fruit juices produced outside this state), fruit
   19  juices produced in this state, home bar, and party supplies and
   20  equipment (including but not limited to glassware and party-type
   21  foods), miniatures of no alcoholic content, and tobacco
   22  products. Such places of business shall have no openings
   23  permitting direct access to any other building or room, except
   24  to a private office or storage room of the place of business
   25  from which patrons are excluded.
   26         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2014.
