1                        A bill to be entitled 
2         An act relating to information technology; creating a 
3         children and families interagency workgroup to 
4         evaluate and make recommendations relating to an 
5         integrated information infrastructure; requiring the 
6         workgroup to submit its recommendations to the 
7         Governor and Legislature; providing an effective date.

9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 
10 
11         Section 1. Children and families data collaboration 
12  workgroup.—The Department of Children and Family Services, the 
13  Department of Health, the Department of Corrections, the 
14  Department of Juvenile Justice, and the Department of Education 
15  shall form an interagency workgroup to evaluate and make 
16  recommendations for improving the efficiency and quality of 
17  integrated children and family services in this state by 
18  creating an integrated information infrastructure that supports 
19  cross-agency collaboration at both the local and state levels. 
20  The evaluation shall focus on the consensus development of 
21  standards and procedures for interagency data sharing and data 
22  transmission, functional specifications for case management 
23  information systems, and confidentiality standards for the 
24  management and exchange of client data across agencies. The 
25  workgroup shall submit its recommendations to the Governor, the 
26  President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of 
27  Representatives by February 1, 2011. 
28         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
