Florida Senate - 2015 SB 1328 By Senator Abruzzo 25-00997-15 20151328__ 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to income inequality impact 3 statements; creating s. 11.52, F.S.; requiring the 4 Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government 5 Accountability to prepare an income inequality impact 6 statement for proposed legislation upon the request of 7 a member of the Legislature; specifying requirements 8 for the impact statement; providing an effective date. 9 10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11 12 Section 1. Section 11.52, Florida Statutes, is created to 13 read: 14 11.52 Income inequality impact statement.—At the request of 15 a member of the Legislature, the Office of Program Policy 16 Analysis and Government Accountability shall prepare an impact 17 statement that estimates the anticipated effects of proposed 18 legislation on income inequality among the residents of this 19 state. The impact statement must indicate if the proposed 20 legislation would increase, decrease, or have no impact on 21 income inequality or if the impact is indeterminable. To the 22 extent feasible, the impact statement should include 23 quantifiable data. The impact statement must specify the 24 methodologies and assumptions used in its preparation. 25 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
