Florida Senate - 2024 SB 1412 By Senator Davis 5-01450-24 20241412__ 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to graduate medical education program 3 performance data; amending s. 409.909, F.S.; requiring 4 the Agency for Health Care Administration, by a 5 specified date, to develop and implement a methodology 6 for collecting performance data from graduate medical 7 education programs seeking or receiving public funding 8 under the Statewide Medicaid Residency Program; 9 specifying minimum requirements for the performance 10 data; requiring the agency to establish certain 11 minimum performance measurements for graduate medical 12 programs receiving funding under the program; 13 providing that, beginning on a specified date, such 14 performance measurements are a condition for receiving 15 funding under the program; providing an effective 16 date. 17 18 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 19 20 Section 1. Present subsections (7) and (8) of section 21 409.909, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as subsections (8) 22 and (9), respectively, and a new subsection (7) is added to that 23 section, to read: 24 409.909 Statewide Medicaid Residency Program.— 25 (7) By October 1, 2024, the agency shall develop and 26 implement a methodology for collecting performance data from 27 graduate medical education programs seeking or receiving funding 28 under this section. At a minimum, the performance data collected 29 must include measurable efforts by a graduate medical education 30 program to increase the availability of residents to serve rural 31 and underserved communities in this state. Based on the data 32 collected pursuant to this subsection, the agency shall 33 establish minimum performance measurements that, beginning July 34 1, 2025, must be met by graduate medical education programs as a 35 condition to receive funding under this section. 36 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024.
