    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution designating January 29, 2024, as “Puerto
    3         Rico Day” at the State Capitol and recognizing the
    4         significant contributions of Puerto Ricans to
    5         Florida’s cultural mosaic.

    7         WHEREAS, Florida embraces a diverse population, including a
    8  thriving Puerto Rican community that contributes substantially
    9  to our state, and
   10         WHEREAS, this year, the annual celebration of Puerto Rico
   11  Day will take place on January 28 and 29, providing an
   12  opportunity to recognize and celebrate Puerto Rico’s rich
   13  heritage, history, and traditions, fostering unity among all
   14  Floridians, and
   15         WHEREAS, the cultural exchange between Puerto Rico and
   16  Florida has strengthened the bonds of friendship and cooperation
   17  and has enhanced the overall well-being of our communities, and
   18         WHEREAS, the State Capitol stands as a symbol of this
   19  state’s commitment to inclusivity and recognizing diverse
   20  backgrounds, and
   21         WHEREAS, the celebration of Puerto Rico Day at the State
   22  Capitol offers a unique opportunity for lawmakers, residents,
   23  and visitors to learn about Puerto Rican culture, history, and
   24  achievements, NOW, THEREFORE,

   26  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   27  
   28         That the Senate hearby designates January 29, 2024, as
   29  “Puerto Rico Day” at the State Capital, to be celebrated on
   30  January 28 and 29 this year, and recognizes the significant
   31  contributions of Puerto Ricans to Florida’s cultural mosaic.
