Florida Senate - 2010 (Corrected Copy) SJR 1504 By Senators Rich and Deutch 30-00132-10 20101504__ 1 Senate Joint Resolution 2 A joint resolution proposing an amendment to Section 3 12 of Article IV of the State Constitution to 4 redesignate the Department of Elderly Affairs as the 5 Department of Elder Affairs. 6 7 Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8 9 That the following amendment to Section 12 of Article IV of 10 the State Constitution is agreed to and shall be submitted to 11 the electors of this state for approval or rejection at the next 12 general election or at an earlier special election specifically 13 authorized by law for that purpose: 14 ARTICLE IV 15 EXECUTIVE 16 SECTION 12. Department of ElderElderlyAffairs.—The 17 legislature may create a Department of ElderElderlyAffairs and 18 prescribe its duties. The provisions governing the 19 administration of the department must comply with Section 6 of 20 Article IV of the State Constitution. 21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following statement be 22 placed on the ballot: 23 CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT 24 ARTICLE IV, SECTION 12 25 DEPARTMENT OF ELDER AFFAIRS.—Proposing an amendment to the 26 State Constitution to redesignate the Department of Elderly 27 Affairs as the Department of Elder Affairs.
