Florida Senate - 2022 SB 1584 By Senator Gruters 23-00672-22 20221584__ 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to Outstanding Florida Springs; 3 amending s. 373.802, F.S.; designating additional 4 springs as Outstanding Florida Springs; making 5 technical changes; reenacting s. 373.042(2)(d), F.S., 6 relating to minimum flows and minimum water levels, to 7 incorporate the amendment made to s. 373.802, F.S., in 8 a reference thereto; providing an effective date. 9 10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11 12 Section 1. Subsection (4) of section 373.802, Florida 13 Statutes, is reordered and amended to read: 14 373.802 Definitions.—As used in this part, the term: 15 (4) “Outstanding Florida Spring” includes all historic 16 first magnitude springs, including their associated spring runs, 17 as determined by the department using the most recent Florida 18 Geological Survey springs bulletin, and all of the following 19 additional springs, including their associated spring runs: 20 (a) De Leon Springs.;21 (c) Little Salt Spring. 22 (d)(b)Peacock Springs.;23 (e)(c)Poe Springs.;24 (f)(d)Rock Springs.;25 (h)(e)Wekiwa Springs.; and26 (b)(f)Gemini Springs. 27 (g) Warm Mineral Springs. 28 29 The term does not include submarine springs or river rises. 30 Section 2. For the purpose of incorporating the amendment 31 made by this act to section 373.802, Florida Statutes, in a 32 reference thereto, paragraph (d) of subsection (2) of section 33 373.042, Florida Statutes, is reenacted to read: 34 373.042 Minimum flows and minimum water levels.— 35 (2) 36 (d) As used in this subsection, the term “Outstanding 37 Florida Spring” has the same meaning as in s. 373.802. 38 Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
