Florida Senate - 2015 (NP) SR 1654 By Senator Bullard 39-02491A-15 20151654__ 1 Senate Resolution 2 A resolution recognizing May 11, 2015, as “Child 3 Welfare Professionals Recognition Day” in Florida. 4 5 WHEREAS, children are this state’s most precious resource 6 and our promise for a bright future, and 7 WHEREAS, Florida’s child welfare professionals are 8 responsible for ensuring that our children live free from 9 maltreatment; enjoy long-term, secure relationships within 10 strong families and communities; and are physically and 11 emotionally healthy and socially competent, and that families 12 nurture, protect, and meet the needs of their children and 13 ensure that children are well-integrated into their communities, 14 and 15 WHEREAS, Florida’s child welfare professionals build 16 rapport and trust with families and those who know and support 17 them; empower family members by identifying their strengths and 18 the resources that are available to assist them; and demonstrate 19 respect for each family in the context of its social network, 20 community, and culture, and 21 WHEREAS, Florida’s child welfare professionals form 22 supportive partnerships with family members, relative 23 caregivers, and foster and adoptive parents to achieve optimum 24 communication, clear roles and responsibilities, and mutual 25 accountability, while including parents and other caregivers in 26 case decisionmaking, and 27 WHEREAS, Florida’s child welfare professionals make 28 invaluable contributions to the safety and quality of life of 29 families and are sincerely dedicated to improving the lives of 30 all children, NOW, THEREFORE, 31 32 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida: 33 34 That May 11, 2015, is recognized as “Child Welfare 35 Professionals Recognition Day” in Florida.
