    1                        A bill to be entitled                       
    2         An act relating to space and aerospace infrastructure; 
    3         creating s. 331.370, F.S.; revising authorized uses of 
    4         specified Space Florida appropriations; providing an 
    5         effective date.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 
    8   
    9         Section 1. Section 331.370, Florida Statutes, is created to 
   10  read: 
   11         331.370 Space and aerospace infrastructure.—Notwithstanding 
   12  any other provisions of law, funds provided in Specific 
   13  Appropriation 2649 of chapter 2008-152, Laws of Florida, for 
   14  Space and Aerospace Infrastructure to make improvements to 
   15  Launch Complex 36 on the 45th Space Wing property may also be 
   16  used by Space Florida for improvements to other launch complexes 
   17  and space transportation facilities in order to attract new 
   18  space vehicle testing and launch business to the state; to 
   19  address intermodal requirements and impacts of the launch 
   20  ranges, spaceports, and other space transportation facilities; 
   21  to advance aerospace technology to meet the current and future 
   22  needs of the commercial space transportation industry in the 
   23  United States; and to assist in the development of joint-use 
   24  facilities and technology that support aviation and aerospace 
   25  operations, including high-altitude and suborbital flights and 
   26  range technology development. 
   27         Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
