A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend an Act providing for the board of education of Greene County, approved March 12, 1986 (Ga. L. 1986, p. 3696), as amended, particularly by an Act approved May 10, 2005 (Ga. L. 2005, p. 4089), so as to change the compensation for the chairperson and members of the board; to provide for related matters; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.

An Act providing for the board of education of Greene County, approved March 12, 1986 (Ga. L. 1986, p. 3696), as amended, particularly by an Act approved May 10, 2005 (Ga. L. 2005, p. 4089), is amended by revising Section 4 as follows:

"SECTION 4.

The members of the board of education shall be compensated in the amount of $465.00 per month. The chairperson of the board shall be compensated in the amount of $515.00 per month. The chairperson and members of the board shall be reimbursed, according to state guidelines, for all necessary expenses incurred in attending any out-of-county meeting or in making any trips on official business for the school system when so authorized by the board. Such compensation of the chairperson and members of the board shall be paid only from the tax funds available to such board for educational purposes."

SECTION 2.

This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2012.

SECTION 3.

All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
