RESOLUTION
Commending
the Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is an outstanding
chapter of this esteemed organization, working tirelessly to provide outstanding
community service to the City of Atlanta; and
WHEREAS,
the numerous service projects of this chapter include Operation H.E.A.R.T. at
Greenbrier Mall, feeding the homeless, visiting senior centers, and mentoring
over 30 students at Booker T. Washington High School, among many others;
and
WHEREAS,
the Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. recently received the
2011 Southern Region Alumni Chapter of the Year; and
WHEREAS,
Alpha Phi Alpha college and graduate chapters have worked diligently and
tirelessly to help correct the educational, economic, political, and social
injustices facing African Americans through various programs and endeavors such
as "Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College," A Voteless People is a Hopeless People,
Project Alpha, Alpha Head Start Fatherhood Initiative, Leadership Academies,
mentoring, affordable housing programs, scholarships, and many other community
service projects; and
WHEREAS,
the Eta Lambda Chapter exemplifies the high ideals of this extraordinary
organization.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.,
for their outstanding contributions to this nation and the State of
Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Eta
Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
