A RESOLUTION


Commending Minnie Lee Summers Youngblood; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Minnie Lee Summers Youngblood was born on January 20, 1910, and this year she enjoys the singular distinction of celebrating her one-hundredth birthday; and

WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding she has demonstrated have provided the foundation and framework of success in which all of her family members have developed and flourished for four descending generations as evidenced by her four wonderful children, her nine outstanding grandchildren, her 20 spectacular great-grandchildren, and her two exceptional great-great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, this native daughter of Wilkinson County is a woman of deep and abiding faith who has been a long-time member and leader of Gordon United Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens; and she possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and

WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she has made of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live; and it is only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of her life.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body heartily commends Minnie Lee Summers Youngblood for her efficient, effective, unselfish, dedicated, and loving service to the members of her family and the citizens of her community and state; congratulates her on the delightful occasion of her one-hundredth birthday; and extends to her its most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Minnie Lee Summers Youngblood.
