RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Miss Freshman Dacula 2011 Courtney Grap; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Courtney Grap has shown by the example of her academic accomplishments and
extracurricular involvement that the pursuit and attainment of excellence are
within the reach of the students in this state; and
WHEREAS,
a tenth-grader at Dacula High School, Courtney recently earned the prestigious
title of Miss Freshman Dacula 2011; and
WHEREAS,
Courtney has been active at Dacula High School where she has volunteered at the
Open House, Celebration of Learning, Teacher of the Year Reception, Honors
Night, and Senior Night; and
WHEREAS,
committed to uplifting the lives of others through service to her community,
Courtney has been an active volunteer with the Gwinnett County Relay for Life,
Gwinnett County's Bark in the Park, and Georgia's Special Olympics;
and
WHEREAS,
by the end of her reign as Miss Freshman Dacula, Courtney will have volunteered
100 hours of community service and is in line to receive a bronze medal from the
President's Council on Civic Service and Volunteerism; and
WHEREAS,
all Georgians are proud of young people who, like Courtney, represent the very
best that this state has to offer; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks forward with great anticipation to the promising and
bright future of this remarkable young citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate Courtney Grap on being named Miss Freshman Dacula 2011
and extend to her their best wishes for her near and distant
future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Miss Freshman
Dacula 2011 Courtney Grap.
