RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Young Junior Miss Dacula 2011 Sophia Sasso; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Sophia Sasso has shown by the example of her academic accomplishments and
extracurricular involvement that the pursuit and attainment of excellence are
within the reach of the students in this state; and
WHEREAS,
a sixth-grader at Twin Rivers Middle School, Sophia recently earned the
prestigious title of Young Junior Miss Dacula 2011; and
WHEREAS,
committed to uplifting the lives of others through service to her community,
Sophia has been an active volunteer with the Gwinnett County Special Olympics,
Walk for Autism Speaks Now, Little Mulberry Park's UnbeLEAFable Day, Suwanee
Music Festival, Easter Seals Walk, Day of Hope in Lawrenceville, and An
Old-Fashioned Christmas at the Historic Courthouse in Lawrenceville;
and
WHEREAS,
Sophia is a peer leader at Dacula Middle School and Dacula Elementary School
where she volunteered at their Fall Festival, Bingo Night, Open House, and
Orientation Night; and
WHEREAS,
during her reign as Young Junior Miss Dacula, Sophia has volunteered over 200
hours of community service and is in line to receive two gold medals from the
President's Council on Civic Service and Volunteerism; and
WHEREAS,
all Georgians are proud of young people who, like Sophia, represent the very
best that this state has to offer; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks forward with great anticipation to the promising and
bright future of this remarkable young
citizen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate Sophia Sasso on being named Young Junior Miss Dacula 2011 and extend to her their best wishes for her near and distant future.
