RESOLUTION
Recognizing
February 15, 2012, as Milledgeville Day at the capitol; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Wednesday, February 15, 2012, is a very special day for all State
Representatives and State Senators; and
WHEREAS,
this day welcomes the mayor, county commissioners, city council, educators, and
general citizens to the current state capital; and
WHEREAS,
these individuals represent the old state capital of Milledgeville, Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
the old state capital leaders and constituents recognize the lawmakers in
Atlanta by inviting them to the Loft at Underground to thank them for their
dedication of service to fellow Georgians; and
WHEREAS,
Governor Nathan Deal, First Lady Susan Deal, Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle,
and Speaker David Ralston have committed to joining their colleagues and
Milledgeville citizens.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize February 15, 2012, as Milledgeville Day at the
capitol.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the public
and the press.
