RESOLUTION
Commending
Hotel Indigo Athens on becoming the first LEED Gold Certified Building in
Athens, Georgia; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Hotel Indigo Athens is the first private development in Athens, Georgia, to
achieve LEED certification and one of only 12 hotels in the world to achieve
Gold status; and
WHEREAS,
the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED green building certification system is
the nationally recognized standard for the design, construction, and operation
of high performance green buildings; and
WHEREAS,
by using less energy, LEED certified buildings save money for families,
businesses, and taxpayers; reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and contribute to a
healthier environment for residents, workers, and the larger community;
and
WHEREAS,
developed by Atlanta based Rialto Property Partners, LLC, Hotel Indigo Athens,
an upscale boutique brand, meets the desires of today's business and leisure
traveler by delivering a refreshing and inviting guest experience that is truly
reflective of the Athens community; and
WHEREAS,
the Hotel Indigo Athens has pioneered an environmentally friendly and
comfortable hotel that provides visitors with a welcoming home away from home;
and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable corporate citizen has earned a glowing reputation in the Athens
area and throughout the state for quality service, attention to detail, and
customer satisfaction; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
amazing company be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Hotel Indigo Athens and Rialto Property Partners, LLC, for
their many outstanding contributions on behalf of the citizens of Georgia,
congratulate them upon their distinction as Athens' first LEED Gold Certified
building, and extend to them best wishes for continued corporate growth,
development, and success in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Hotel Indigo
Athens General Manager Robert Jahn.
