A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Mrs. Beverly Weaver on the occasion of her retirement; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Beverly Weaver has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced dramatically by her 44 and a half years of superlative service to the State of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, she began her employment with Fannin County Government on June 1, 1968, in the Tax Commissioner's Office as a clerk, served as deputy tax commissioner, and was elected and served two terms as tax commissioner in 2004 and 2008 after assuming the position of tax commissioner in 2003 when the former tax commissioner retired; and

WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Mrs. Weaver is a member of First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge; and

WHEREAS, a breast cancer survivor, Mrs. Weaver is a contributor and active participant in the annual Fannin County Relay for Life event; and

WHEREAS, her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and

WHEREAS, she has been united in love and marriage to Roy L. Weaver for 48 years, and they are blessed with two remarkable children, Jeff Weaver and Ashley Deal, five adored grandchildren, and one wonderful great-grandchild; and
WHEREAS, her leadership and vision will be sorely missed upon the occasion of her retirement, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Mrs. Beverly Weaver for over four decades of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to Fannin County; congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend to her their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Beverly Weaver.
