RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending American Legion Post 143 on the occasion of its 75th anniversary;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
American Legion Post 143 was established in March of 1935 when 30 veterans of
World War I had a vision to support their community; and
WHEREAS,
this year, American Legion Post 143 celebrates 75 years of diligent and
conscientious service to veterans and their families in Carrollton, Carroll
County, and the West Georgia area; and
WHEREAS,
members of American Legion Post 143 are committed to mentoring and sponsoring
youth programs in the West Georgia area, advocating patriotism and honor,
promoting a strong national security, and demonstrating a continued devotion to
their fellow service members and veterans; and
WHEREAS,
American Legion Post 143 looks forward with great anticipation to the ground
breaking on its comprehensive veteran's clinic; and
WHEREAS,
members of American Legion Post 143 include dedicated county leaders and
prominent county residents, and, working together, the members have made great
contributions to their community and nation; and
WHEREAS,
this exemplary civic organization and all of its outstanding members have given
generously of their time and assets, thereby accomplishing great missions,
contributing tremendously to the quality of life in their community, and
bringing honor and credit to the American Legion and the State of
Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend American Legion Post 143 for its many
accomplishments and contributions and extend their congratulations on this the
occasion of its 75th anniversary.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to American
Legion Post 143.
