RESOLUTION
Commending
Grace Little, Fannin County High School's 2012 STAR Student; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
Grace Little has shown by the example of her academic accomplishments that the
pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of the
students in this state; and
WHEREAS,
this remarkable scholar has earned distinction through her superlative
achievements at Fannin County High School where she is a gifted student and has
been selected as Fannin County High School's 2012 STAR Student; and
WHEREAS,
to be selected as a STAR Student for a high school, a student must have obtained
the highest score in one administration of the three-part Scholastic Aptitude
Test and be in the top 10 percent or top ten students of his or her class;
and
WHEREAS,
Grace Little, the beloved daughter of Bill and Susan Little and older sister of
Megan Little, is a member of the Rebels golf and academics teams, is a former
state Technology Student Association secretary, and is the current secretary of
the Fannin High TSA chapter; and
WHEREAS,
a young woman of deep and abiding faith, Grace is a member of St. Anthony
Catholic Church in Blue Ridge; and
WHEREAS,
she has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness,
and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance;
and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this
bright and promising young citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily commend Grace Little's spectacular scholastic endeavors,
recognize her for being named Fannin County High School's STAR Student for 2012,
and express their most sincere best wishes for continued academic success in the
future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Grace Little.
