A RESOLUTION


Honoring the life and memory of Mr. Michael A. "Mickey" Wilson; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Mr. Michael A. "Mickey" Wilson on February 26, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson was born on June 14, 1936, in New Holland, Georgia, a beloved son of the late James E. and Ruth Stoyle Wilson; and

WHEREAS, a life-long resident of Hall County, Mr. Wilson graduated from Georgia Southern University, the University of Georgia School of Banking, and Louisiana State University School of Banking, and was a respected community banker for many years; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Wilson was united in love and marriage for 48 wonderful years to Janis Miller Wilson, and was blessed with the love and support of his children, Drew and Dane Rowe Wilson and Mitch and Anslee Dunckel Wilson, and five remarkable grandchildren, Emmeline, Dickens, Rowe, Ella, and Miller; and

WHEREAS, a strong supporter of community and civic organizations, Mr. Wilson was a member of the Traditional Bowhunters of Georgia, a life member of the Gainesville Elks Lodge and the Chattahoochee Country Club, and assisted the Hall County 4-H Youth Archery Program; and

WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his family and friends were admired by others; and

WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness and, by the example he made of his life, he made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Mr. Wilson will long be remembered for his love of the outdoors, family, and friendship, and this loyal husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend will be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing him.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Mr. Michael A. "Mickey" Wilson and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mr. Michael A. "Mickey" Wilson.
