RESOLUTION
Commending
registered dieticians and recognizing March 10, 2010, as Registered Dieticians
Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
registered dietitians are the food and nutrition experts who translate the
science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living;
and
WHEREAS,
registered dietitians have degrees in nutrition, dietetics, public health, or a
related field from well-respected, accredited colleges and universities;
and
WHEREAS,
these dedicated professionals use their nutrition expertise to help individuals
make unique, positive lifestyle changes; and
WHEREAS,
registered dietitians work throughout the community in hospitals, schools,
public health clinics, nursing homes, fitness centers, food management, food
industry, universities, research facilities, and private practice;
and
WHEREAS,
registered dietitians are advocates for advancing the nutritional status of
Americans and people around the world; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
distinguished profession be appropriately recognized for the advice, counsel,
and expertise they provide to Georgians.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body honor and commend registered dieticians for their many years of
efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the citizens of
this state and recognize March 10, 2010, as Registered Dieticians Day at the
state capitol.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to members of
the public and the press.
