RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ms. Barbara Landreth; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Barbara Landreth has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that she has played in the teaching profession and her deep
personal commitment to the education of the students of Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
Newnan High School English teacher Ms. Barbara Landreth has educated students in
Coweta County for 50 years; and
WHEREAS,
over the past 50 years, she has made a tremendous and positive impact on
thousands of students, including having served as the English department chair
and putting in numerous hours into publishing the Newnan High School yearbook
for many years; and
WHEREAS,
she was hired by Newnan High School in December of 1961 and has served the
school and the community continuously in her duties as an educator;
and
WHEREAS,
she has been recognized by her peers and students as Teacher of the Year and
Star Teacher on numerous occasions; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her contributions to the education and welfare of young people
in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the
extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding
individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily commend Ms. Barbara Landreth for 50 years of outstanding
commitment to education and express to her their most sincere best wishes for
continued success in the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Barbara
Landreth.
