A
RESOLUTION
Commending
the Northlake Community Alliance, Inc.; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Northlake Community Alliance, Inc., consists of motivated and dedicated
board members who volunteer considerable time and effort to improving the
Northlake Community; and
WHEREAS,
the Northlake Community Alliance succeeded in obtaining the Northlake Overlay
Zone Ordinance, which provides a strong tool for controlling development and
keeping out unwanted uses; and
WHEREAS,
the Northlake Community Alliance's architectural, development, and signage
controls have resulted in a more beautiful Northlake business district;
and
WHEREAS,
the Northlake Community Alliance has promoted a sustainable community through
its sponsorship of an electronic recycling day, and more than 300 area residents
and businesses participated and recycled more than 16 tons of electronic devices
in 2011; and
WHEREAS,
the Northlake Community Alliance has sponsored a community shred day to provide
an opportunity for Northlake residents to securely shred documents;
and
WHEREAS,
the Northlake Community Alliance promotes civic understanding and educational
opportunities through its town hall meetings and other activities;
and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting that the accomplishments of this organization be
appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the Northlake Community Alliance, Inc., for its efforts to
improve the quality of life in the Northlake
Community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Northlake Community Alliance, Inc.
