A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Golden Isles Aviation for being named the ConocoPhillips Aviation Fixed Base Operator of the Month; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Golden Isles Aviation has been named the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) of the Month by ConocoPhillips Aviation for their facility standards, service standards, program execution, safety, history, and reputation; and

WHEREAS, Golden Isles Aviation has been in business for over 50 years; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Larry Wade, president and owner of Golden Isles Aviation for 26 years, has transformed the FBO's facilities, equipment, and services so that it is now recognized as an award winning FBO within the industry worldwide; and

WHEREAS, Golden Isles Aviation was an Exxon branded location for 25 years and because of their service standards it was selected to be one of their premier locations; and

WHEREAS, Golden Isles Aviation has received numerous honors, including the ExxonMobil Premier Spirit Gold Award for service and facilities to pilots and their passengers based on an annual survey of pilots, during which time Mr. Wade served on ExxonMobil's aviation board; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Wade also served on the President's Council of the National Air Transportation Association where he helped give direction and input to the industry's trade association and worked with U.S. legislative and aviation bureaucratic agencies, including FAA and DOT, on issues regarding general aviation, its services, and its airports; and

WHEREAS, Golden Isles Aviation made the change to the well respected and legacy program of ConocoPhillips Aviation when ExxonMobil closed its general aviation distributing marketplace; and
WHEREAS, Golden Isles Aviation is passionate about being an excellent "front door" to the Golden Isles community and strives to be a great enabler for people and aircraft to be served and provide a pleasant experience for those who fly in and out of St. Simons Island Airport; and

WHEREAS, Golden Isles Aviation is committed to promoting the great benefits of general aviation to the user and to the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of Golden Isles Aviation be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Golden Isles Aviation for 50 years of business to its community and the State of Georgia and to Mr. Larry Wade for his many accomplishments as president and owner of this remarkable Georgia company, and congratulate Golden Isles Aviation for being named the ConocoPhillips Aviation Fixed Base Operator of the Month.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Larry Wade.
