A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Gateway Martial Arts on the occasion of its tenth anniversary;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Gateway Martial Arts opened its doors in June of 2002 and has experienced
tremendous growth; and
WHEREAS,
the school is fortunate to have several master instructors, some bringing in 30
or more years of martial arts experience to share with Gateway's students;
and
WHEREAS,
by teaching martial arts and educating students in physical, mental, and
emotional well-being, Gateway Martial Arts strives to contribute to a better
community one person at a time; and
WHEREAS,
an active member of the community, Gateway Martial Arts is partners with local
public schools, sponsors the Journey Fund, supports the local police department
through donations of teddy bears for officers to keep for children, and sends
Christmas cards made by the students to armed forces overseas each year;
and
WHEREAS,
this year, Gateway Martial Arts is sponsoring its third annual Journey Fund
Fundraiser, a nonprofit memorial fund created to support martial artists in
their journey to find their warrior spirit; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that Gateway Martial Arts be appropriately
recognized during this very special and memorable time.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Gateway Martial Arts for ten years of dedication to the
citizens of its community and the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Gateway
Martial Arts.
