A
RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life and memory of Dr. V.C. Lovell; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the passing of Dr. V.C. Lovell on March 22, 2012; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Lovell was born on December 9, 1931, in Habersham County, Georgia, a beloved
son of the late Lillie and Virgil L. Lovell, Sr.; and
WHEREAS,
he earned both a bachelor's degree and a doctoral degree in veterinary medicine
from the University of Georgia and established veterinary clinics in Hall and
White Counties; and
WHEREAS,
a successful businessman, Dr. Lovell established a thriving career in real
estate, land development, and home construction, and owned and operated
Universal Concrete Wall, Inc., in Habersham County; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Lovell was united in love and marriage to Jo Ann Lovell for 60 wonderful
years, and was blessed with the support and care of his children, V.C. Lovell
II, Charles and Lynn Lovell, David and Ruth Ann Lovell, Rusty and Jan Lovell,
Michael Lovell, Deborah and Todd Turansky, John and Janna Lovell, and Deitra
Lovell; and
WHEREAS,
he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern
for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he
demonstrated to his family and friends were admired by others; and
WHEREAS,
he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness and, by the example he made of
his life, he made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS,
a compassionate and generous man, Dr. Lovell will long be remembered for his
love of family and friendship, and this loyal husband, father, grandfather,
brother, uncle, and friend will be missed by all who had the great fortune of
knowing him.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in honoring the life and memory of Dr. V.C. Lovell and express
their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Dr. V.C. Lovell.
