A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Mrs. Angie Konarski; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Angie Konarski, an educator at Gum Springs Elementary School, is widely recognized throughout her community and the state as the personification of excellence in education; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of her outstanding dedication to academic achievement, Mrs. Konarski has been named the 2010-2011 Jackson County School System Teacher of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Konarski has been a fifth grade teacher in Jackson County for seven years, first at West Jackson Intermediate School and currently at Gum Springs Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, she is studying to obtain a master's degree in reading and literacy in order to better serve the needs of her inclusion class students; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Konarski fosters respectful relationships in her classroom and provides students with examples by modeling expected behaviors; and

WHEREAS, she has an open door policy, encouraging communication and dialogue with parents, siblings, and students' family members and creating a team atmosphere approach to student progress; and

WHEREAS, nothing is more vital to the future of our state than the education of our young people, and during her teaching career, Mrs. Konarski has exemplified the selfless dedication and professionalism which are characteristic of our finest educators; and

WHEREAS, it is appropriate that this body join in expressing appreciation to Mrs. Konarski for her outstanding efforts and accomplishments in education.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that Mrs. Angie Konarski is hereby recognized, commended, and congratulated upon her selection as Teacher of the Year; and gratitude is expressed for the great credit this fine educator reflects upon the Jackson County School System and the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Angie Konarski.
