RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the annual Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry and commending Mr. Jerry Carney, Mr.
Wallace Mathis, Mr. Rusty Slade, Mr. Eli Tinsley, Mr. Zack Wade, and the
Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry cooking team; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the members of the Georgia General Assembly have come to eagerly anticipate the
annual Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry which will be held on Wednesday, March 2,
2011; and
WHEREAS,
certain urban legislators, long deprived of real country cooking, having resided
for too many days within the confines of the metro area and longing for the
taste of fried catfish and hush puppies, are hereby presented the opportunity to
satisfy their cravings; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Jerry Carney and Mr. Eli Tinsley of the Cordele-Crisp County Chamber of
Commerce, City Commission Chairman Zack Wade, County Commission Chairman Wallace
Mathis, and Crisp County Power Commission Board Member Rusty Slade are the
recognized spokespersons for the Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry; and
WHEREAS,
it is fitting and proper to recognize and commend these dedicated civic leaders
for rescuing those urban legislators from unexciting food fare and bringing a
taste of home to rural legislators by hosting this delicious event.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize the Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry and commend Mr. Jerry
Carney, Mr. Wallace Mathis, Mr. Rusty Slade, Mr. Eli Tinsley, Mr. Zack Wade, and
the Cordele-Crisp County Fish Fry cooking team.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to the
aforementioned spokespersons and cooking team.
