RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Dr. Michael Zager; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. Michael Zager has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for his
leadership in the field of veterinary medicine, his compassionate treatment of
animals, and his deep concern for the well-being of all creatures;
and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Zager was recently recognized with the naming of Georgia Aquarium's
veterinary office in his honor, a place which is used to coordinate the care for
the undersea creatures housed at the aquarium; and
WHEREAS,
a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Zager
has been a practicing veterinarian for 31 years, focusing his work on the
animals of Fannin and Gilmer counties; and
WHEREAS,
he has worked at Boardtown Animal Hospital in East Ellijay, the Ocoee Animal
Hospital in Blue Ridge, and with North Georgia Veterinary Services;
and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Zager is recognized for providing medical care to large farm animals,
including horses, llamas, and alpacas; and
WHEREAS,
he is united in love and marriage to his wife, Cindy, and he has been blessed
with two remarkable daughters, Caroline and Katie; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his many contributions to animals in this state and his
community, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the
extraordinary commitment and accomplishments of this outstanding
individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize Dr. Michael Zager for his many contributions to the
betterment and care of animals, recognize his remarkable talent as a
veterinarian, and congratulate him upon the naming of Georgia Aquarium's
veterinary office in his honor.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Michael
Zager.
