BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 21-2-130 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to procedures for qualification of candidates generally, so as to require each
candidate for public office to be in compliance with certain disclosure
requirements; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and
for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 21-2-130 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
procedures for qualification of candidates generally, is amended by designating
the current Code section as subsection (a) and adding a new subsection to read
as follows:
"(b)
A person who has not filed all of the campaign contribution disclosure reports
required by Code Section 21-5-34 or financial disclosure reports required by
Code Section 21-5-50 shall not be eligible to qualify as a candidate for any
elective public office in this state until such reports are filed with and
accepted by the appropriate filing officer for such
reports."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
