A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Cal Logan; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Cal Logan recently became the oldest player to record a hole in one on a
par-3 of the Waterford Golf Club in Bonaire, Georgia, an accomplishment defying
odds of 125,000 against 1; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Logan was born in 1924, grew up in southeast Mississippi during the Great
Depression, and returned to the sport of golf in 2005 after a 32 year layoff;
and
WHEREAS,
this amazing 86 year old athlete is a 21 handicapper who can shoot his age
almost half the times he tees up; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Logan served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the
United States Navy, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow American
during World War II in the Pacific Theater before enlisting with the Air Force
at the conclusion of the war; and
WHEREAS,
he took up the sport of golf while stationed in Albany and played for 14 years
before hanging up his clubs in 1972; and
WHEREAS,

and even though he had to wait 86 years to tell people he had made a hole in
one, he assures everyone that it was well worth the wait.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mr. Cal Logan for his vibrant spirit and recognize his incredible, once in a
lifetime accomplishment of hitting a hole in one.
