RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Willie Coleman; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Willie Coleman has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment
to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Coleman has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his
time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state as
evidenced dramatically by his superlative service with the B.R.I.D.G.E. to
Success program; and
WHEREAS,
currently in its 18th year, the B.R.I.D.G.E. program was established to enact
effective community change by helping students through G.E.D. attainment;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Coleman has served as the director of the B.R.I.D.G.E. to Success program
since 2000 and has greatly contributed to the program's growth and development
over the last ten years; and
WHEREAS,
his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience
and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his eternally positive attitude
have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Coleman's experience as an Army Drill Sergeant has served the program well
as he can be firm when necessary to maintain and restore classroom order;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Coleman was recently recognized for his outstanding service to the
B.R.I.D.G.E. to Success program with an Anniversary Award;
and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mr. Willie Coleman for his efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated
service to the B.R.I.D.G.E. to Success program.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Willie Coleman.
