RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Jane Fraser Fulcher; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Jane Fraser Fulcher has long been recognized by the citizens of this state
for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal
commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as
evidenced dramatically by superlative service with the Stuttering Foundation of
America; and
WHEREAS,
established in 1947 by Malcolm Fraser, the Stuttering Foundation of America
strives to promote effective treatment ideas for those who stutter;
and
WHEREAS,
stuttering is an often misunderstood disability that affects over three million
Americans, and despite clinical and basic research, the cause of the disability
is unknown; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Fulcher has been a driving force behind the Stuttering Foundation of
America and her dedication and efforts were recognized by the Prime Minister of
Great Britain for her work on behalf of children worldwide who stutter;
and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and it is abundantly fitting
and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and
distinguished woman be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mrs. Jane Fraser Fulcher for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated
service to those affected by stuttering problems and extend their most sincere
gratitude to her and the Stuttering Foundation of America for their efforts to
find a cause and cure for this disability.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Jane Fraser Fulcher.
