RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Franklin County Middle School Technology Student Association;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Franklin County Middle School Technology Student Association (TSA) has
earned a well-deserved reputation for excellence throughout the State of Georgia
and this nation; and
WHEREAS,
the chapter recently competed in the 49th annual TSA State Conference and
students won state titles in Parliamentary Procedure, Structural Engineering,
Dragster Design, Career Preparations, Green Manufacturing, Leadership
Strategies, Public Speaking, Technical Drawing, Marine Design, and Technical
Writing; and
WHEREAS,
this year's chapter placed second in the state in Agriculture and Biological
Issues, Computer Aided Drafting, Construction, and Robotics; and
WHEREAS,
third place finishes at the state competition were achieved by the chapter in
Technology Debate, Digital Photography, Dragster Design, Environmental Focus,
and Georgia Outstanding Student; and
WHEREAS,
in the past 21 years, the Franklin County Middle School TSA has won the Georgia
Outstanding Technology Student Association Chapter award an incredible 20 times;
and
WHEREAS,
the chapter has earned national acclaim five times with the National Technology
Student Association Chapter of Excellence Award in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1999, and
2009; and
WHEREAS,
this amazing organization is led by Dr. David Phillips who was recognized in
1994 as the National Advisor of the Year by the National TSA; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding work of this fine
organization and its numerous accomplishments be appropriately
recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the Franklin County Middle School Technology Student Association on its history
and tradition of excellence in the Technology Student Association program and
congratulate its students on their successful performances at the 49th annual
TSA State Conference.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Franklin County Middle
School Technology Student Association's advisor, Dr. David Phillips.
