RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Hugh Nunnally and the late Mrs. Miriam Nunnally on their
philanthropic service to Glynn County; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
as long-time residents of Sea Island and Glynn County, Mr. Hugh Nunnally and the
late Mrs. Miriam Nunnally have earned a reputation for their generosity and
philanthropic work; and
WHEREAS,
in September, 2010, the Miriam and Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center was
dedicated at Southeast Georgia Health System in recognition of the family's
generous donation of $1 million to the hospital; and
WHEREAS,
in honor of his wife's memory, Mr. Nunnally made a $1 million investment in the
College of Coastal Georgia in order to aid in training highly skilled and
committed nurses; and
WHEREAS,
the Miriam and Hugh Nunnally Center for Nursing Education at the College of
Coastal Georgia will support capital projects and programming that benefits
nursing students and nursing education; and
WHEREAS,
the Nunnally children include Hugh "Tripp" Nunnally III, Mary Nunnally, and Lee
Nunnally; and
WHEREAS,
the Nunnally family's generosity and benevolent service to Glynn County and the
State of Georgia are worthy of recognition.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the Nunnally family for their generous contributions which will touch the lives
of countless Georgians.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Hugh Nunnally.
