A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Joshua Austin Jeans; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most important objective of the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, Joshua Austin Jeans has shown by the example of his academic accomplishments that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success are within the reach of the students in this state; and

WHEREAS, this remarkable scholar has earned distinction through his superlative achievements at Mount Paran Christian School where he is a gifted student and has been selected as class valedictorian; and

WHEREAS, the son of proud parents Tony and Kim Jeans, Josh has served as class president at Mount Paran for three years, has been named to the Headmaster's Honor Roll all eight semesters in high school, and has a cumulative grade point average of 4.56; and

WHEREAS, during his years at Mount Paran, Josh has been a member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club, participated in the peer mentoring program, and earned varsity letters in football and track; and

WHEREAS, he has been nominated for the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit, a National Merit Scholarship, and a Beta Club Scholarship; and

WHEREAS, Josh was a member of Mount Paran's region winning mock trial team and received two Best Witness awards for his performances at the region and state competitions; and

WHEREAS, by his many achievements, work ethic, and positive attitude, Josh has brought credit to his parents, his community, his school, and this state; and

WHEREAS, all Georgians are proud of young men who, like Josh, represent the very best that this state has to offer; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this bright and promising young citizen.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body heartily commend Joshua Austin Jeans for his spectacular scholastic endeavors, congratulate him on his numerous achievements, and express to him their most sincere best wishes for continued success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Joshua Austin Jeans.
