RESOLUTION
Honoring
and celebrating the 100th birthday of Curtis Lucille Sanders; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Curtis Lucille Sanders was born on January 7, 1912, in Lawrenceville, Georgia,
the beloved daughter of Frank and Gussy Hutchins; and
WHEREAS,
she was united in love and marriage to John W. Sanders for 55 years and has been
blessed with two remarkable children, Porter Lucas, Jr., and Lizzie Ruth
Flanigan, and 11 grandchildren; and
WHEREAS,
a woman of deep and abiding faith, Curtis Lucille Sanders attends Macedonia
Baptist Church and loves Bible hymns and Gospel music; and
WHEREAS,
she enjoys gardening, making quilts, bottoming chairs, sewing, playing Chinese
checkers, and watching Braves games; and
WHEREAS,
she moved to Lithonia, Georgia, in 1960 and currently resides there;
and
WHEREAS,
this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high
ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens; and she possesses the
vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character
which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life;
and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she has made
of her life, she makes this world a better place in which to live; and it is
only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very
special time of her life.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
celebrating Curtis Lucille Sanders on the occasion of her 100th birthday and
wishing her many more years of happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Curtis Lucille Sanders.
