A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Stan L. Hall on the occasion of his retirement; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Stan Hall dedicated 33 years of service to law enforcement, having worked in all facets of law enforcement and starting as a patrolman in 1978; and

WHEREAS, he holds a master's degree in criminal justice, holds a POST management certificate, and is a graduate of the 188th session of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, Virginia; and

WHEREAS, he was the Director of the Victim Witness Program in the Gwinnett County District Attorney's office and the District Attorney's investigative liaison for the Gwinnett County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force, and he spent five years as the lead investigator for the District Attorney's Child Protection Team; and

WHEREAS, Stan holds the highest police management certification available in the State of Georgia; is an adjunct faculty member for the Northeast Georgia Police Academy, the Gwinnett Police Academy, and the F.B.I. National Academy; and was appointed by the Governor as a board member of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council; and

WHEREAS, he has written well over 100 articles that focus on law enforcement and the judicial system that have been published in local and national news publications, he is a frequent lecturer throughout the state involving hate crimes, sex crimes, and victim's rights, and he is the former host of the cable access television show Behind the Badge and writes a weekly Behind the Badge newspaper column; and

WHEREAS, Stan is an honest and dedicated public servant who strives for excellence in all his endeavors and whose primary concern has always been the welfare and safety of those he has been assigned to protect; and
WHEREAS, in acknowledgment of Stan Hall's amazing commitment to victim's rights, the principles of law enforcement, and dedication to the community, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Stan L. Hall on the extensive, effective, and unselfish dedication he displayed and recognize his devotion to public service in the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Stan L. Hall.
