RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mia K. Rice; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mia K. Rice has been appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to the Georgia Commission
on Women; and
WHEREAS,
she is currently teaching at the Brookstone School in Columbus, Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
she earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a master's degree in
curriculum and instruction from the University of Mississippi; and
WHEREAS,
she serves on the Lay Leadership Committee and the Administrative Board at St.
Luke Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS,
Mia Rice is united in love and marriage to husband, Brooks, and they have been
blessed with the love of three remarkable children; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of
this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Mia K. Rice for her many contributions and accomplishments to the State of
Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mia K. Rice.
