RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Valdosta State University Red Hots Dance Team on winning
their second consecutive national championship; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
after months of practicing their perfectly choreographed dance routine, the
Valdosta State University Red Hots Dance Team earned their second consecutive
national championship in Daytona Beach, Florida; and
WHEREAS,
in addition to the team's back-to-back championship titles, the Red Hots brought
home the competition's innovative choreography award; and
WHEREAS,
under the direction of Head Coach Kelli Fields, the dance squad maintained their
reputation as a national powerhouse, demonstrating considerable talent,
discipline, coordination, and teamwork in the competition finals to stand above
their competitors; and
WHEREAS,
the dance team displayed great stamina and poise during their aerobic and
challenging routine performed to the song "Nothing But the Water";
and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
the Valdosta State University Red Hots Dance Team on their second national
championship.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to the Valdosta State
University Red Hots Team and their coach.
