A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Twenty-second REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $6,035,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2023-2024 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the twenty-second representative district, as follows:
Construction and equipment and appurtenances for repainting of the exterior of each building.
Construction $1,500,000
Equipment $500,000
Total funding $2,000,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
2. Hokulani elementary school
Construction and equipment and appurtenances for repaving the parking lot and driveway.
Construction $5,000
Equipment $30,000
Total funding $35,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
3. Hokulani elementary school
Construction and equipment and appurtenances for replacement of playground equipment behind C-building.
Construction $50,000
Equipment $200,000
Total funding $250,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
4. Manoa elementary school
Plans and construction for outdoor learning space and garden.
Plans $50,000
Construction $450,000
Total funding $500,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
5. Manoa elementary school
Plans and construction to convert room (Boy Scout Hut) for multiple usage.
Plans $50,000
Construction $450,000
Total funding $500,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
6. Noelani elementary school
Construction for an A-building playground.
Construction $250,000
Total funding $250,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
7. Noelani elementary school
Equipment and appurtenances for outdoor court resurfacing.
Equipment $500,000
Total funding $500,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
8. Noelani elementary school
Plans, design, construction, and equipment and appurtenances for covered walkway reroofing, structural repairs, and expansion.
Construction $2,000,000
Total funding $2,000,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2026, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2023.
