STATE OF HAWAII

 

 

 

 

 

 

A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to the university of hawaii.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The auditor shall conduct a detailed audit of the special funds administered by the University of Hawaii, whether established by statute or administratively.  The audit shall include:

     (1)  A financial audit of the special funds; and

     (2)  An analysis of each special fund, including a determination of whether the respective special fund satisfies the criteria established under section 23-11, Hawaii Revised Statutes, and an assessment of alternative forms of funding.

     The auditor shall submit a report of its findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature not later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2012.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
