A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to Capital Improvement Projects for the Benefit of the Twenty-First Representative District.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $7,490,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2017-2018 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the twentieth representative district, as follows:
1. To be expended by the department of education
A. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu
Plans and designs for a covered play court.
Plans $ 20,000
Design 180,000
Total funding $ 200,000
B. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu
Physical fitness station and equipment.
Equipment $ 200,000
Total funding $ 200,000
C. Kaimuki middle school, Oahu
Design and construction to cover walkways at the Kilauea avenue drop-off area in front of the main office and between J building and Q building.

Design, construction, and equipment for the repaving and renovation of basketball courts.

SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2020, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017.
