A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CLIMATE CHANGE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Section 225P-4, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (d) to read as follows:
"(d) Members of the task force shall [be
nominated and appointed pursuant to, and subject to section 26-34 and shall]
serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses
necessary for the performance of their duties, including travel expenses."
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $300,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2019-2020 for the office of planning to administer the greenhouse gas sequestration task force.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the office of planning for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
