A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING to CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE EIGHTEENTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2017-2018:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Aina Haina elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction for restrooms that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act for public meeting attendees.

B. Aina Haina elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction to extend the administration building for additional meeting space; ground and site improvements.

C. Aina Haina elementary school, Oahu
Design and construction for an electrical system upgrade to install air conditioning systems in all classrooms.

Design and construction of new roofs for the library and buildings A and B.

Design and construction to install air conditioning systems in all classrooms and a stand-alone photovoltaic system for electrical power.

Construction for the installation of additional playground equipment for new programs; ground and site improvements.

Design and construction for a new visual and performing arts complex, including an auditorium, a film and broadcast center, an art gallery, classrooms, and stage set workshops; ground and site improvements.

Construction of four world language classrooms; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

Design and construction for six permanent Americans with Disabilities Act compliant ramps to replace temporary metal ramps that require regular maintenance; ground and site improvements.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act. SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017.
