A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO HOSPITALS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 321-14.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (d) to read as follows:

     "(d)  The rules shall [provide]:

     (1)  Provide that the department may conduct inspections and investigations of exempt hospitals to investigate complaints, follow up on adverse accreditation findings, or conduct periodic validation surveys[.]; and

     (2)  Require that each hospital holding a license pursuant to this section develop and maintain a security management plan that shall be provided to the department."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 3000.

Description:

Requires the Department of Health to establish rules requiring all licensed hospitals to develop and maintain a security management plan that is to be shared with the Department of Health.  Effective 7/1/3000.  (HD1)
