A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE twenty-fourth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2018-2019:

1.   To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:

     A.   Papakolea community development corporation, Oahu

Land acquisition, design, and construction to install new playground equipment including a turf surface, upgrade the bathroom facilities and aging pipes, replace the spectator benches, and design a new basketball court complex; and ground and site improvements.

          Land acquisition                          $65,000

          Design                                   $115,000

          Construction                             $250,000

          Total funding                            $430,000

2.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   New Makiki public library, Oahu

Plans, design, and construction to renovate the existing building for a new public library; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                    $99,000

          Construction                           $6,900,000

          Total funding                          $7,000,000

     B.   President Abraham Lincoln elementary school, Oahu

Plans, design, and construction for a new parking lot; and ground and site improvements.

          Total funding                            $900,000

     C.   President Abraham Lincoln elementary school, Oahu

Plans, design, and construction to convert an outdoor basketball court into a covered playcourt; and ground and site improvements.

     D.   President George Washington middle school, Oahu

Construction and equipment for a new band room facility with instrumental support spaces; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

     E.   President Theodore Roosevelt high school, Oahu

Plans and construction to install two new ADA restrooms with wash down shower areas; and ground and site improvements.

Plans, design, and construction for a new music facility; and ground and site improvements.

     G.   Queen Kaahumanu elementary school, Oahu

Construction to repave and resurface the Kinau parking lot; and ground and site improvements.

Construction to replace the grass area with a new parking lot along Piikoi street; and ground and site improvements.

          Construction                             $150,000

     I.   Robert Louis Stevenson middle school, Oahu

Plans and design for a covered gymnasium; and ground and site improvements.

          Plans                                    $250,000

          Design                                   $250,000

          Total funding                            $500,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2018.
