A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the thirty-seventh representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Mililani, Waipio Gentry, and Waikele, located in the thirty-seventh representative district, encompass a new and expanding area. Aging and deteriorating school facilities in the district require repair and maintenance to ensure that these facilities meet the educational needs of youth in the community and the community at large.
SECTION 2. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2016-2017:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Highlands intermediate school, Oahu
Design and construction to cement the planter area to mitigate erosion and dust in classrooms.

Design and construction of canopy for courtyard for heat abatement.

SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 2 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2016.
