A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FORTY-THIRD REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2018-2019.

1.   To be expended by the department of education:

A.   Maili elementary school, Oahu

Construction for restroom renovation in building A.

Construction                           $400,000

Total funding                          $400,000

B.   Maili elementary school, Oahu

Design for a new drainage system.

Design                                $150,000

Total funding                          $150,000

C.   Nanakuli high and intermediate school, Oahu

Plans, design, and construction for a new performing arts theatre.

Plans and design                     $1,750,000

Construction                        $21,000,000

Total funding                       $22,750,000

D.   Nanakuli elementary school, Oahu

Construction for basketball court resurfacing.

Construction                           $10,000

Total funding                          $10,000

E.   Nanakuli elementary school, Oahu

Construction to install vinyl flooring in buildings B and C.

Construction                           $35,000

Total funding                          $35,000

F.   Nanakuli elementary school, Oahu

Construction for bathroom renovation in buildings B and C.

Construction                           $20,000

Total funding                          $20,000

G.   Ka Waihona o Ka Na'auao public charter school, Oahu

Construction for a new sixteen classroom building.

Construction                        $15,000,000

Total funding                       $15,000,000

H.   Barbers Point elementary school, Oahu

Equipment for an industrial fan for the cafeteria.

Equipment                               $10,000

Total funding                          $10,000

2.   To be expended by the department of transportation:

A.   Kalaeloa to Hakimo road, Oahu

Plans, design, and construction for the extension of the fifth lane of Farrington highway.

Plans                                $1,000,000

Design                               $1,000,000

Construction                         $8,000,000

Total funding                       $10,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2018.
