A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to energy.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 196, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to Part I to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§196- Electrical generation for self-consumption. Anything to the contrary notwithstanding, any person residing within the agricultural district may generate electrical energy using any energy resource, for consumption on the lot in which the person resides, without compliance with chapter 269, 205A, or 343, or any ordinances or rules promulgated pursuant to those chapters."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
